Because Naples is a unique town, First Baptist Church has adopted a unique ministry to its part timer residents. You are important to us! We want you to be informed of the privileges of dual membership and to encourage you to join as soon as possible. We care for you and want to better serve your family.
What is Dual Membership?
Dual Membership is the opportunity for you to be more a part of the First Baptist Church of Naples when you are in and out of town. We want this to be your church and for you to feel like it is. Part-time residents are vital to the Naples area. Our church is unique by offering membership across the country to those who do not live in the Naples are on a full-time basis. When you decide to become a dual member of First Baptist Church your current membership in your out-of-town church will not be affected at all. You will simply be added to our church family and welcomed as such. We want you to feel a part and be a part of what God is doing in Naples!
How do I become a Dual Member?
It's simple! You can become a dual member by meeting the two requirements taught in the Bible for church membership. The Scriptures teach that faith in Jesus Christ and baptism by immersion following your commitment to Christ are pre-requisites for church membership. The church has produced several booklets regarding these issues. If you should have any questions, please take the time to read one of the following: The Real Facts of Life, Everything You Need to Know About Church Membership and Baptism or Baptism. They are free and can be picked up in the tract rack in the foyer or you can all the church office (239-597-6057) and request them...or click on the words to read more on our website.
Below are a few verses that help verify that the Bible requires genuine repentance of sin, sincere belief in Christ as Savior and Lord and baptism by immersion before one can be considered a member of the church.
At the conclusion of one of the worship services the ministers will be standing at the front of the Worship Center facing the congregation. Please go to one of them and say "I would like to become a dual member." You will then go to a private room where a caring well trained member from First Baptist Church will visit with you and assist you in becoming a dual member. You will be asked to affirm your faith in Christ and your prior decision to repent of your sin. If you have not committed your life to Christ or been baptized by immersion, we will be glad to help you do so.
You will also be asked about your current church affiliation. Your out-of-town membership must be in a church that adheres to the fundamentals of the Christian faith, such as, the virgin birth of Christ, the sinless life of Christ, Jesus' death upon the cross, His bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven, His visible second coming, salvation only through Christ and the divine inspiration of the Bible.
What is the benefit?
Dual Membership allows you to be a significant part of the work of God in Naples through the First Baptist Church. You will be encouraged to attend a Bible and Life Group and become an actively involved member in our church ministries. They are here for you! You will be able to serve in church ministries if that is your desire, though it is not required of anyone. You are also given full voting privileges regarding church decisions. We encourage you to attend the church business sessions, share your heart and place your vote.
Dual membership is a blessing...
You will be a blessing to us and we will do our best to encourage and help you. If you should have any questions regarding dual membership, First Baptist Church or would simply like to speak to a minister, please call the church office (239-597-6057).
